Harrison is an ambitious well organised person who has definitive goals in his chosen career. He completed his apprenticeship in October 2014 whilst working at Viking Marine for the past four years. Viking specialise in marine fabrication with several major Government contracts. Gaining his job at Viking Marine was like living his dream, since it provides him the opportunity to work towards a career as a sheet metal engineer.
He attended Chullora TAFE College in NSW achieving Certificate IV in Computer Automated Design (CAD). He has since achieved a Diploma in Metal Engineering and Structural Welding Certification. During this time he entered into the MEIA (Manufacturing and Engineering Institute of Australia) competition and gained 3rd place. He went on to participate in the 2013 WorldSkills Australia Regional Competition in the Sheetmetal Work category where he qualified to participate in the 2014 WorldSkills Australia National Competition and was awarded 2nd place. Harrison is interested in working in Scandinavian countries and the UK where they have specialist manufacturing in Marine engineering and fabrication.
