Caelan started his apprenticeship under Chef Warren Flanagan at Gemelli Café and Grill in Point Cook and later under Ben D’Arcy at Shadowfax Winery in Werribee.
He is a quietly ambitious team player who is also a passionate and hard-working young chef. He loves creating a menu from items that you can find in your back yard. The idea of creating flavoursome food that people will enjoy is just beautiful to him. He says “When you are so passionate about your job it becomes a lifestyle”.
Throughout his secondary schooling Caelan demonstrated leadership capabilities. In 2012 he won the Rotary Award for Leadership and in 2015 he achieved a number of awards including Third Place in Worldskills Regional Chef Skills Competition.
He has completed Certificate III in Business Studies and a Certificate lll in Commercial Cooking at William Angliss Institute, provider of food, tourism, and hospitality training in Victoria.
His interests and hobbies away from his passionate role as a chef include surfing and skate boarding as well as researching ideas and new menu options.
Caelan has a strong interest in Asian cuisine and is heading to Hong Kong where he hopes to work in a Michelin starred restaurant and is extremely excited to start his life changing experience.
